Is anyone else familiar with and/or following the website www.whatisstephenharperreading.com ? I find it pretty addictive.

The premise is that Canadian author Yann Martel (Life of Pi, among others...) was attending an awards ceremony of the Canadian Coucil for the Arts and was disappointed about Prime Minister Stephen Harper's seeming disinterest. So, he decided to help the Prime Minister become more comfortable with the concept of stillness be sending him a book every two weeks.

The website chronicles each of Yann Martel's book reviews as well as includes the sparse communication that he has received in reponse from PM Harper.

The reviews are fascinating and have opened my eyes to many different books that I had overlooked, passed over, enjoyed immensely, or simply never heard of.

There are now 70 books on the list with more to come as Mr. Martel vows to keep this up as long as Stephen Harper is in office.

Thanks. That's a very useful and valuable reading list. Such treasures are hard to find. I've copied it as a text file for future reference.

Thanks for posting this!

Love the idea of "expanding stillness".
