Hi all,

My husband and I are visiting Boston for a few days in September. We are flying in, and plan on renting a car. However, car rental prices seem to have skyrocketed (or I am mis-remembering how much a typical rental costs.) We are finding prices starting at $50 a day, through all the usual car rental places like Avis, Budget, Dollar, etc. If we were just going to stay in the city we would just forgo the car renting and rely on public transit, but since we plan on seeing sites across the area, we really need to rent a vehicle.

Does anyone have any ideas for car rental for less than $50 a day? Ideally, we could find something in the $20 - $30 range, but we are having trouble finding anything like that. We'd love any advice or suggestions!

Thanks

I just did a quick search on Kayak, picking some random weekend/days in September. If you can find your way over to Cambridge, there's an Enterprise center there which was doing about 25 a day.

Then it says there's a terminal in East Boston, and Enterprise has a shuttle there from Logan. So, it's something to look into.

Try the bidding option on priceline or hotwire or carrental.com. I've had the best luck with those sites for cars.

For as long as I can remember, the Enterprise in Central Square has been one of the best deals going. It's just a block from the Central T station, couldn't be easier to get to.

Use Budget Car Rental and use BCD# U263466. I get good rates 35-40% off with this and use it all the time for Travel.

If you rent at Logan Airport, the daily rates are about $30-40 but then you have to tack on all of the taxes and fees which equals about $10.00 per day as well.
