I'll be in town in a few weeks for the B.C. - Maryland game and am not familiar with the area between BU and the Boston College campus.

Are there any decent hotels in this area, ideally close to a train station? Anything around $120 - $150 / night is fine.

Regards,

Well Hotel Commonwealth is right there as is Hotel Buckminster. Both of those are reasonably priced and you can jump on the Green Line (B- Branch) right out your front door and head straight into BC.

The Green Line runs all through the core of the city. You could really stay in any downtown neighborhood (Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Financial District, Chinatown/Theater District, Faneuil Hall area and even the North End) and have pretty easy access to BC via the Green Line (again, BC is on the B Branch of the Green Line). As a result, you could get on Priceline or Hotwire and book a hotel (bid on priceline) for less than what you'd pay by booking those places on their own websites. Any hotel in any of the neighborhoods I just listed will give to good access to the subway and they'll all be safe. I'd try Priceline or Hotwire.

BC is a little bit further away from town. If you want to be closer to more amenities, I'd stay downtown (those neighborhoods above all qualify). Hotel Commonwealth and Hotel Buckminster are right in Kenmore Square which is right next to Fenway Park and Lansdowne Street (tons of sports bars) which I'd imagine would be ideal. You're also right on the subway for access to the rest of the city.

Thanks. Those would have been perfect.

I wasn't aware it is Harvard's homecoming that weekend; most hotels appear to have no vacancy, so it looks like I'll have to try further out from downtown.
