Can someone please comment on the job prospects in IT? My areas of interest include healthcare IT, business/data analyst and information management. I am considering a move from Eastern PA to possibly Salem, but would like info from the locals.

Kind regards

IT hiring is definitely on the rise. I would probably look to land a job before you move.

Check out monster, dice, careerbuilder, simplyhired, linkedin, etc.

IT jobs are pretty easy to come by. I went to school for marketing, and found myself in this field due to the job openings, and better salary.

Just look, you should have little trouble atleast getting interviews as long as you have some experience.

Also, look into IT recruiters and staffers. When it comes to IT, many companies would rather contract someone first, before hiring. Unless its for a management level position.

Boston is probably one of the best, if not the best city, for IT work. Employers are having an extremely hard time finding experienced IT workers to fill higher level positions right now.

A lot of the IT jobs in "Boston" are NOT in the city. They are on the outskirts of Boston. There are a lot of IT jobs here but most of them require you driving.
