Hey all! I'm helping my hubby plan a trip to Boston to see a Red Sox game next month. They will be staying Friday-Sunday, going to the game on Saturday.

They would like to stay in a hotel near the ball park if possible, but since we aren't familiar with the area, we are looking for recommendations. What is the area around the park like? Is it a good neighborhood to stay in? Where is the best nightlife for a group of guys in their late 20s? I'm kind of lost as to where to start looking...they definitely would like to stay in a location where it will be easy to get to Fenway, as well as bars/restaurants/etc.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

Stay in the Back Bay. You can walk to Fenway from there or take the Green Line. The Back Bay is a nice area of town wtih lots of hotels & restaurants and beautiful neighborhoods.

Second the Back Bay. It can be pricy but if you look on hotwire.com you'll find some good hotel deals. The only drawback is you won't know exactly which hotel, but anything in the Back Bay (hotwire may use the label "Copley Square") is in a good area and easily accessible to Fenway (and everything else). They also show what percentage of users recommend the hotel, so you're not going in totally blind.

If you don't want to pay what hotels cost around the area, I recommend the Oasis Guest House. It's walking distance to Fenway, clean, and well priced:
