Yup Classic. Just like screaming "racist". Thanks for the history lesson, I'll have to let her know.

Could you explain to me what black culture is exactly then. If black people want to be known for having their own culture then fine. But why is it when a white or asian or non black person assumes a black person listens to rap music or gasp likes fried chicken that is then called racist? It seems like we can't win with you. You don't want people to generalize you yet you want your own special culture from the rest of the country. Most people just are who they are and like what they like at the end of the day

If you dont know about the culture then dont call it bad! If all you know is shooting rap and fried chicken then..c'mon. You dont assume because you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Then if you really dont understand the culture then why even try to make an assumption. You know what happens when u assume...

And its a culture like any other. Its very nuanced and varies by region religion class and more..just like other peoples culture. Not all inner city blacks are poor in fact a lot are upper middle class and middle class. It also is different in Boston than in say Houston. But its not really my job to explain it here in one post. There are hundreds ofthreads about black culture and inner city black culture on CD and many sociological studies available online. if you really are interested in knowing more the resources are readily available. Rap and fried chicken as an assumption just makes you sound uncouth and is a vast oversimplifiaction.

Black culture is okay. Native American culture is okay. Mexican American culture is okay. Chinese American culture is okay. White culture is okay. California culture is okay. Yankee culture is okay. Southern culture is okay.

Yes we all are Americans and there is some American culture but there are also many subcultures that make up that fabric. However mainstream 'American culture' is driven by whites as you all are the most populous group and control 95% of everything. So non white cultures may seem anywhere from exotic (perhaps asian) to deviant (black). All cultures have good and bad but with black culture we've got so little money and social clout we often times get a little more negative shine than we deserve.

Seriously, how does a bike being 'improperly stored' warrant being seized?

No mention of the bikes being stolen. And the fact that they're annoying and you're sick of them doesn't warrant seizure either IMO.

Being illegal on the streets is a ticket at most.

One of these kids should invest in lawyer. Someone needs to keep the city and police in check.

It is a fire hazard. And if they are stolen they get returned to their rightful owners or scrapped, otherwise they are just impounded.
