Due to a bunch of crappy circumstances, I won't be able to move to my new place until 10pm at night. I was wondering if that is allowed in Boston?

Dont see why you wouldnt. You're renting right? Check with the land lord or building manager, it would definitely be up to them. When i got a place in roxbury i didnt get there till about 1:30 am because i had a late shift, and the landlord didnt mind. I had moved my couch and some other stuff in ahead of time, so it wasnt the first time being there, if thats your case i would wait till the next day. Work it out with your landlord first, but im sure there's no law stating when you can move.

You will have to be very mindful of the parking situation and noise level if you're moving into a multi unit building. In fact, I think noise would be the biggest issue, especially if you're moving to a floor higher than the 1st/basement. I know back when I lived in a first floor apartment, I would have been ticked off if it was 11pm and the people upstairs were moving around heavy furniture. Save the decorating for the morning and just have the movers deposit the furniture as quickly and quietly as possible, but don't be surprised if a particularly sensitive neighbor below still complains
