You're probably thinking of the Avalon Prudential Apartments. They're not actually in the main Prudential Tower, but they are the tall towers (maybe 20 stories) next to the Pru. There are 2 buildings, maybe.

Apartments in Boston | Avalon at Prudential Center

They're luxury apartments. Pretty expensive, but sort of generic looking. Avalon is a big national luxury apartment company. My friend lives in one of the buildings. The common areas of the building are really nice. There's a concierge. She has a walk-in closet, but she doesn't have laundry in her apartment and it's not granite countertops or anything really high end (at least not her unit). She's on one of the upper floors though and has an incredible view.

So while the apartment is nice, she's definitely paying for location. IShe's been there for a about 2-3 years and I think she pays around $2500/$2600 for a 1 bedroom.

I'm pretty sure the Pru tower is 100% commercial space (offices, restaurant, stores, etc.)

I've heard those Pru apts aren't all that nice anymore and the fun was kinda ruined with the Mandarin blocking many peoples' views.
