My husband and I are planning on visiting Boston for the first time the end of May. We are looking for some recommendations on hotels that are just out of the main part of the city so that the cost may be a little lower. With that, we would like them to be within walking distance of public transportation. Any recommendations? This is our first time in Boston and our dream place to go! We look to not spend as much on hotel to be able to do more there.

Look in Cambridge, just across the Charles River. I've seen decent rates for hotels there, and you would be close to the red line on the T.
