I live about 40 mins from Houston where it is VERY hot and humid all the time. We rarely get a winter here and that is something I really miss, and that is why I am moving to Boston or neighboring cities. In comparison, what is the humidity level in Boston, I have not been able to find it on the internet. I don't mind trading cold weather a few mos out of the year in exchange for HEAT all the time! Thanks!

The humidity in Boston is nothing compared to Houston. I was born and raised in Houston and this past August was a cake walk for me even with no a/c. The only place I've been to with worse humidity than Houston was Santo Domingo.

Not even close to being in the same league as Houston.

Boston has higher humidity than, say, San Francisco; but not even close to what you have in Houston or what you'd find in much of the Southeastern U.S.

It's also less consistent here. A good percentage of summer days are relatively humid, but we break the 90 degree barrier maybe 10-15 days in a whole summer (a "heat wave" by Boston standards) so it's not as unbearable. I've lived in places (Washington D.C. in the summer) and been to others (Chennai, India) where it can be unbearable to be outside on certain days due to the humidity/heat combo. In the years I've been in Boston, I can't think of more than a handful of days where I've thought the heat/humidity here was unbearable or even close.

I agree with both of the above. I watch the humidity for work in several states (wet bulb) and Boston was more humid than normal this year, but we are crispy dry compared to Houston.

I lived through the summer here in Boston with no a/c...I could have never done this in SC. Its humid here, but to southerners its nothing compared to southern humidity. And also here at nigh it cools down

He worst part of weather up here is the rapid swings, for example on March 27th it was almost 90f inland, and 4 days later overnight March 31st/april 1st it snowed 8 inches. This was 2010 or 2011.

Hot is not an issue in BOS - cold is. As awful as the heat is in HOU, so is the cold in BOS. There is humidity in BOS since it's by the ocean, but most of the time it's cool and lovely. Driving late at night through a light fog is wonderful - the air is like a caress.

Agree with all of the above. There are some humid days in the summer, but nothing like the south or even the mid-Atlantic. Even on the most humid days, the highest dewpoint I've seen is about 70 degrees, whereas in the D.C. area, there are long stretches of summer days when the dewpoint stays around 75 degrees.

Heat, humidity, and cold in Boston is still not much compared to even the midwest!

In MN, WI, IN, MI, etc it gets hotter and more humid in the summer (but not Houston standards, just close to OK standards), and it gets colder in the winter. But, the reason it's warmer here in the winter is also the reason that we get more snow than the central US and we have cooler, drier summers - the ocean and the gulf stream. Which is also why Boston was the perfect port city - the gulf stream cut days off an ocean voyage back to england vs. going from say Florida to Spain.

I have a friend from Minnesota and she laughs when people say Boston is cold. She said if want to feel real bitter cold move to Minnesota.
