anyone living in Brighton or have a general knowledge about this area?
I am new here and do not know how safe it is to walk out my apartment at 5am and to wait in the darkness for buses... don't laugh at me if you find this amusing...
Are there a lot of people taking early buses? Are there some people walking around the neighbourhood in early morning?
I agree it would depend on the part of Brighton, but in general Brighton is a safer area of the city. In my personal opinion, the areas of Brighton closer to Allston tend to be more sketchy late at night and early in the morning, especially getting closer to Allston Street (there was a shooting death there in April) and Harvard Avenue (where there are more homeless people and drunk people coming from bars). I consider that area Allston, but some maps mark it as Brighton.
I live in Brighton Center and have lived near Cleveland Circle (toward the Commonwealth side) and felt safe early in the morning in both of those neighborhood. Because there are a lot of college students in those areas, there tend to be some people or cars around even late in the evening and early in the morning and the areas tend to be well lit. I am female young profession if that helps for reference.
Could you share your ideas on how to find an apartment in this area?
I rented this 3 br apartment with two other gilrs late in June. Basically what we did was just standard searching online and we looked through a few rental agent websites as well as craiglist. We wanted to live somewhere that has easy access to public transit to get to BU. This one just popped up at the time and we thought it was ok in terms of meeting our needs. So we got it.
