Heading to Boston on J1 this summer with a group, im 20 and the rest are 21. Are nightclubs strict on age and letting people in??

Yes. You will be carded. "Rise" is 18+, but it's an afterhours place (1AM-6AM) and doesn't serve alcohol. Plus it's waaay overpriced.

YES, Hell yes. LOL... way too many law suits and unfortunately, that is what drives them to the intensity of the "Carding" or checking for IDs

most of the clubs in Boston are 24 and under lol.

God yes. Hell, even when you turn 21, some places still won't serve you alcohol if your license is out of state.

Are you Irish? (Know a lot of Irish do the Boston J1 thing).

Anyway, if you are then yeah... there's not a hope. It's not the same as Ireland, even if your over 30 most places will still do a scan of your ID.
Passports and official US driving licence is about all that will pass.

It's unfortunate but if you are under 21 you'd have a better time of a J1 going with other under-21'ers.

depending on which school you will be at, many students invest in fake IDs. I'm not endorsing this but it is common practice in the larger schools *cough* BU *cough*
