My cousin sent me an email and he is quite upset with his employer who called him up and said he has to come into work today or he would be fired. Authorities are telling everyone in his community to not leave their homes but he was told in no uncertain terms that his Boston employer is open and he has to come to work.

Anyone else forced to work regardless of the shelter in place recommendation by authorities?

And what motive would he have for making it up?

What kind of business is it?

I think one thing that many of the media elite are forgetting is a good percent of Americans work by the hour and if they don't work they don't get paid. Also many small businesses depend on being open every day to pay their expenses.

My friend works at a restaurant and maybe the owner thinks if his restaurant is open the few people out on the street who do want to eat out will come there and he can make some money. So his staff are told they have to come to work, or they will be fired with cause and not be eligible for unemployment insurance, etc.

People who work in offices are likely to be paid for not working and the world will not come to an end if they don't show up today. But the city needs the service people to show up to work. The Airport is open and everyone who works at the airport are told to come to work.

guess Fox news got their facts wrong...... They CLAIM all shops and restaurants are closed at the airport. Since Boston is on LOCK=DOWN and all airport employees are being put up in airport hotels.

not confirmed but Logan is planning on closing
