Amtrak is much happier with less competition. Watch your back Megabus.

What really sucks is that these companies get to operate until they are caught operating in an unsafe manner, instead of the government responsibly monitoring companies that deliberately seek to undersell competitors, as a general rule, to ensure they're not doing so by compromising safety, engaging in consumer deception, or via other scurrilous means.

That sucks. How else will I be able to buy $15 bus tickets 30 min beforehand on a whim to the greatest city in the US?

I'm already in the greatest city in the US, but if I wanted to take a bus to NYC, it'll take a little advanced planning on my part.

Side note, someone on UHub mentioned they were shut down due to paperwork issues. Perhaps they'll be back up and running at some point. I've never used LS, but do miss Fung Wah.

.
Boston cannot be considered the greatest city on earth, especially when NYC beats Boston in pretty much every category (food, vibrancy, influence, culture, attractions, international prominence, shopping, nightlife). NYC is a true international superstar; Boston is a provincial village.

Did you make a mistake and post under the wrong screen name? How many do you have btw? Oistrakh-Oistrakh12? Or are there more?

Monday afternoon I took the pike from Worcester/Millbury to the Riverside station. Inbound, I saw a Bolt, a Mega, and a Yo bus. Outbound, saw another Boltbus. Didn't see a PeterPan on the road though lol.

One more reason I'm glad to be leaving. First Fung Wah, then LS, next it'll be Go, Yo, Mega, etc. They'll probably let the overpriced Peter Pan/Greyhound live since they're barely competition to the all-important rail "system".

They'll allow the properly priced Peter Pan/Greyhound live since they operate in a safe and compliant manner by comparison.
