Hi everyone! I plan to stay in Boston for a month in November. What are the greatest bars, restaurants and nightclubs you'd advise?

Just ate at Menton last night and it was fantastic. Plus the best service I think I've ever had. There were about 10 different people that helped serve us and keep the table clean, but one main server that was very knowledgable. When she asked how I liked the second drink I had ordered and I told her it was okay but didn't really like one of the ingredients in it, she offered to bring me another we had initially discussed. I thanked her and told her I would just stick with what I had, but to be nice she had it made and brought it to me anyway and then didn't charge me for either one! Really a great restaurant all around though.

He's being intentionally sarcastic and unhelpful.

edwards list is very detailed, a little intimidating to a newcomer perhaps? But useful even for me! Keep in mind places like O Ya are mind-blowingly expensive and places like Clio are for foodies, maybe not for everyone.

Anyways, may I add:

Winsor Dim Sum in Chinatown
Angela's (Mexican) in East Boston
Rino's Place (Italian homemade pasta) in East Boston
Sugar (breakfast and lunch) in Roslindale Square
As for the North End, there are really only two restaurants I can even recommend anymore, but they are well worth it: Trattoria Il Panino and La Summa.
Christina's (Ice Cream) in Cambridge
Portugalia (Portuguese-nothing amazing but comfort food) in Cambridge

Goin' out:
The Middle East, Cantab Lounge, and the Lizard Lounge all in Cambridge
Club Cafe for gay things in Back Bay

Ok I could add so much more but I'll leave it there for now

Note, while they have excellent food, there's probably about 10-15 tables in the place and they don't rush people. They also don't take reservations unless you are 6+ people.

Point being, go completely off hours, maybe go on a weeknight, or you are going to have a very long wait in an area that isn't the greatest. (no indoor waiting area either)

Bergamot is better than the few restaurants I've had on that list (TW Food, Craigie, Oleana, etc. IMO).

Browyn and Journeyman aren't worth the money IMO, with the second one being outrageously expensive for what it is. Backbar is great though.

Chatted with a sophisticated visitor recently who raved about Mama Maria's near Paul Revere House.

Seems one can still get great Italian in the Nrth End despite some naysayers.

I believe it's $$$ but in a nice townhouse. I believe it's been there over 20 years?
