The only issue with this is that never ending Western ave construction project.

Depends on where you are in Somerville, of course. I live in Somerville and jump on 93 (its right there) and hit the tunnel and the pike pretty easily (easily being relative).

Well, I do love living here, and so do my neighbors. And we do put a lot of effort into keeping our building and other spaces well maintained. And I do have a sense of pride being a resident, but I more so feel very lucky. Feeling like an exclusive anything is absolutely not how I, or anyone I know who lives here want to be perceived. I think we want this place to be very accessible and welcome all types here.

Wait! Is it the parking? I bet it's the parking that's making you think Brookline is an exclusive club. I don't know, but if this place is designed to make me feel like I live in an exclusive club, it's failing miserably.

OP, come on by and decide for ourself if this place feels upscale...the most upscale thing is a Gap, or something comparable. We do have some pricey restaurants, but many more average one's. Take a peek inside Hops and Scotch, that'll probably be your speed and age of people. That place is always packed with well dressed, good looking young professionals.

And what about the theater? Good prices for movie's and great prices for live performances...and you can get a beer! When was the last time you drank a friggin' beer at a movie theater! Exclusive club is a weird wu o describe and think about Brookline.

Anyway, OP, you may get bored of it. I don't know, but check out Cambridge and the South End of Boston too. South End can be big bucks and not worth it to some but may be fun for a year or so and is a good location - close to many things. Whatever you decide, try to get close to the T so you can get into Boston or wherever with little hassle and without needing to take a taxi or drive everywhere.
