I think that it's just commonsense and smart for any young woman to think ahead of time where she might turn to for help if she found herself in a situation of a creep person following her. On a public street, know where the police stations are and what shops are open. On the subway, notice where a security booth is or stay near a group of other people, maybe a cluster of college kids.

But don't walk completely alone or in an area where there are no witnesses at all.

Better to just take a month or two of boxing or MMA.
