How is Gaylord Street in Dorchester in terms of safety?

Also, what is the deal with on street parking? I haven't ever noticed any permits and there aren't meters on the streets. What happens during snow emergencies? Is there a place to look this info up?

In Dorchester parking permits are rare. Especially in the neighborhood you're asking about. I used to live a few blocks away near Harvard St.

As much as I get nostalgic about my younger days around there, I try not to hang around there too long. My old street (Nightingale St.) has had worst days and is on an up swing.

But the Geneva-Bowdoin corridor (which Gaylord is closer too) is the crime center of Boston. It's in an economically depressed neighborhood. Good Luck!

Feel free to PM if you have questions.

Call 617-635-4500, the Mayor's Hotline, 24/7.

They may be able to refer you to answers on parking issues for particular streets.

Rough. That's the heart of the Four Corners neighborhood. Predominantly low income African American if you don't mind but gang violence does exist over there.

Many parts of Dorchester don't require permits and you can park as long as you like.
