Cleary Square at least has a lot of potential. I like the layout with streets converging from different angles. It's not just a strip like Centre Street in West Roxbury or Jamaica Plain or Central Square Cambridge. It feels more like a town center, like Roslindale Square or--dare I make this analogy?--Harvard Square (not in vitality, obviously, but just in the spatial layout.)

Mind blowing.
Incredible that anyone would complain about a 10-minute walk. That's simply pitiful.

What if you had a baby and a toddler with you? Not fun to push a baby stroller through the snow, carry groceries and hold the hand of your other child.

It wasn't really cold that year, just lots of snow. And 10 minutes is nothing. Actually, that winter was fantastic for walks as it was smart to leave your car in place and driving was so poor. But that was a once in a lifetime anomaly. It was fantastic to snowshoe some early mornings as well.

What if they had a bad hip? What if they have poor footwear and slip a lot? What if, what if, what if... sure, some people can always find reasons to not do something or to avoid something.

Ill add that it was a 10 min walk to the train. Then id get off the train and have another 10 min walk to my work. Then it was the same thing on the way home. Sometimes you just want to get to where you need to go. That was 40 min of walking a day and that didnt even include the misery of actuallly taking the crowded redline during rush hour. And yes i was pregnant during this time. Cant imagine having to do that with a baby and a toddler. Pitiful seems like a harsh word so And i still walk to the train today and have a walk to work. I happen to live closer to a T now than i didn then.

'Roslindale now filling up with people priced out of JP, the board wonders when Hyde Park will fill up with people priced out of Roslindale.'

Yeah this is already happening in HP. It almost seems like there arent a whole lot of single family homes for sale in HP? They seem to pop up everywhere in roslindale and w. Rox.

Definitely noticeable. Being driven around Boston by my son this week, my wife and I noticed how few "for sale" signs there were citywide.
