These snowy days don't occur all the time and with my $75 a month T-pass, it is definitely worth the money, even when gas is so cheap. Heck, once better weather days come, I'll go back to riding the Fairmount Commuter Line to Dorchester and them switching over to a bus to Ashmont. Commute takes 90 minutes but I am thoroughly relaxed in the end.

I fill my car up once a month and drive it only on the weekends. Total transportation expenses top up around $100. Can you beat that?
Got home today in 25 min from downtown to Milton. From garage to garage in a warm remote started car. Different strokes I guess.

I'd shoot myself if I had a 90 min commute plus multiple transfers waiting around, relaxing or not.

It's improving every day. The entire Orange and Blue Lines are running, the Green D line is runinng coast-to-coast, the Red Line from Alewife to Ashmont is running all the way, the Commuter Rail lines are running, as are the buses. The Red Line from Alewife to Braintree has a few stops to go, as do some of the Green Lines past Kenmore. Boston just never gets this kind of snow, this quickly, on a yearly basis..

It seems that a good amount of people who normally take the T to work have opted to simply drive. My sister, who lives in North Quincy, drove from there to MGH yesterday morning instead of taking the T. It took her 1 hour and 10 minutes to make a trip that is optimal traffic conditions can be done in roughly 15 minutes.

That's the exponential effect I knew would happen and that I was so concerned about. One normal T rider gets fed up and decides to drive and then a slew of others follow suit. Next thing you know, the highways are clogged with additional vehicles and commute times multiply.

Anyways, everyone should be content that T service is being restored at least for now. Braintree Line service has been restored to North Quincy and should be fully back by Monday.
