OK, was walking on Salem St. the other night to get delicious made-on-the-premisis ice cream at Lulu's Candy and Bakeshop (cupcakes).

Noticed the corner spot, vacated by Goody Glover's, is about to open as a....

Peet's Coffee and Tea. No problem? Hey, they opened a few months ago on Beacon Hill, filling a long-empty 7-11.

It's 2015, grow up, right, neighborhoods evolve, right?

But that will be competition for Thinking Cup on Hanover St.

Will this be the start of a major trend? Heck, Starbuck's on the waterfront area of the North End likely draws very few complaints by now.

Thinking cup is so much better than peets, I wouldn't worry about it. Peets is more for grabbing a coffee on the go, thinking cup is where you go to sit and read or meet up with people. I'd never go on a date at peets, let's just say.

Yes, and Thinking Cup has good quality "French Hot Chocolate" and an in-house pastry chef. Peet's likely doesn't make their own pastries?

I never get those pastries or cookies at Starbucks. They just unwrap them after defrosting over night...same with their bagels.

Thank goodness for locals like Thinking Cup.

But those SB pastries do taste great when faced with the choice of the pastries or those sandwiches that have the consistency of rubber chicken between two cellophane sponges.
