Hi everybody,

I am currently working on a research project on Boston neighborhoods and I am having trouble downloading the raw data.

I would need data about household income, unemployment, race and age distribution organized by neighborhood or, better, zipcode (for reference I found this data on //www.city-data.com/nbmaps/neig...achusetts.html).

I know that the original source is the US Census bureau and the American Community Survey, but I am really having a hard time finding the original dataset. Could someone help me out?

As a reward, I'll give you earlybird access to my research results <3

Gabriele

The local planning agency has data crunchers to help prepare various reports and studies taking population demographics into account. They should be able to help you-- in Boston it's the Boston Redevelopment Authority. Other sources of help would be the Metropolitan Area Planning Council and research units at Northeastern and U-Mass Boston -- you'd have to ask which ones -- that crunch data like that to study local and regional trends.
