Nope, really not a heavy sleeper either, just not a princess.

Not sure why you get so offended so easily. Maybe the internet isn't the place for you.

Lots of whiney millennials out there who get even whinier when they realize things they want won't be given to them on a silver platter. Those first few years after college are really tough - BA in early 17th century Inuit art history doesn't pay, monthly checks from mommy and daddy stopped coming and they won't be keeling over and leaving a seven figure inheritance for at least another 20 years or so. Tough, I tell you!

Wasn't offended one bit. You really need to learn to read people better and not get so easily defensive.

I live in Brighton Center. Our house has 2 floors, 2 bathrooms. 4 people total (including me) live there. We are all mid to late twenties (no students). All expenses in a typical month for me add up to probably 675. My girlfriend lives in Washington Square, Brookline. She pays 650/month for rent, living also with 4 total people (including her). No, neither of us has central air conditioning, or fancy counters or whatever, but total acceptable amenities, no doubt. I guess I don't consider either of our places to be in bad neighborhoods, not adult, or whatever else. Sure, I'd love to have really nice things and live in a single bedroom or something, but is that a 100% necessity? No, definitely not. I barely spend any time at home anyway.
I went through Washington Square and Oak Square last week on the way back from town. I think that neighborhood is kind of charming, better than just ok and the storefronts look clean. I would not mind living there were I single person in my 20s at all.

Agreed, I think these areas are two of the best bang for your rental buck in town. I really have little desire to move to another neighborhood, unless I doubled my salary or something and could afford to live so I'd never have to take the T to work.

Brighton Center/Oak Square is getting a grocery store this week, by the way, where the old Beacon Hill Athletic Club gym used to be. I believe Roche Bros has purchased a building too. The biggest deficiency in the area is now being addressed, so I'm quite happy to be here.

It sound like you are working off-peak hours, and it would be easy to commute from a place like Woburn or even North Andover or Peabody. Unless maybe those places have become obscenely expensive in the past few years, IDK. Pretty sad if one can't live like an ADULT on a middle-class salary, if one desires.

I found a couple of decent places in Woburn to eat, Pinxtos for one I really like (they have a mako shark dish I love), but no idea why people would want to live out there in general when they can live in Brighton. Outside of having kids in schools.

And living like "an adult" hasn't really ever meant living alone, or it only did for a tiny little blip in history. Of course, tons of people don't like living alone, I personally do though. s

I don't know, I imagine someone who works in Woburn would prefer to live there over Brighton? Or maybe they work equal distance from both and they can get a nicer place for their money there??? Maybe they grew up there... IDK, everyone has their unique circumstances and has reasons for where they live. You would really have to ask each individual living in Woburn why they live there and not Brighton...

Personally, neither one of those places does anything for me and can think of 1,000 areas I would rather live.
