I'd guess Maine is better. Maine is the Saudi Arabia of drinking water.

Interesting! In Needham, we don't use MWRA water for the most part. We have local wells near the Charles River and because of that our water is moderately hard. It has much more mineral content than surrounding communities that rely on MWRA water.

Parts of the country that have hard water are places where the bedrock is composed of limestone like Florida or the Midwest.

Areas of the country where the bedrock is igneous, like the Northeast or the PacNW are going to have very little or no hard water.
