I will be working in Danvers this coming week and heading home to Connecticut on Friday evening, leaving Danvers around 5. I'll be going 95 South to West/Mass Pike, skirting around Boston proper. Should I just kill time and wait to leave until later or will traffic not be intolerable? I do have a stop I could make in Framingham to kill time if necessary.

Where does traffic generally begin to ease up?

I would recommend driving along Rt One to Barnes and Noble, perusing the books shelves, have a cup of coffee and head out around 7:00. Traffic is usually pretty bad going through Boston at that time (can take 40 minutes just from Malden to Mass Pike). Why bother when you can wait a while, relax and get home at around the same time by waiting!

Thanks for the reply, I had a feeling it would be easier to just sit tight for a while. Perhaps I'll have one more dinner in the area and kill some time.
