and need to ask about parking alternatives. my hotel (Hyatt in Cambridge) plans on charging me $40/night extra for parking which i think is ridiculous (i would think paying guests would get free parking). so i was hoping i could park my car someplace else that is a lot cheaper for the 3 days/nights i'll be up there. i don't trust a commuter lot for that long so i'd appreciate any ideas. would need access to bus/T that can take me to Kendall Sq or directly to the hotel. thx..

LOL, welcome to Boston. It's worse on the other side of the river...I believe the Marriott Copley was charging $62 a night last time I looked?!

Lots charge $50 to go to a Red Sox game - sucks being a season ticket holder. If you want your car available and close by, if you're lucky you might save $5/day maybe, yet you could be many blocks away. It's $35/day at Logan, but cost to get to/from car or taxis/metro if you want to get around will chew up the difference and then some.

I guess you could try the Alewife garage at $7/day.

Alewife would be a little out of the way to the Hyatt.

You can park at Cambridgeside Galleria for $25 overnight but you need to be out by 8 AM. Unfortunately, on street parking in Cambridge is very restricted and garage parking is expensive.

Streets around oak square don't require resident stickers and always have plenty of space. You'd have to take the 57 to Kenmore. Or the 64 to central and then 1 stop to Kendall. Might be confusing, but it would be free.

There's a hotel with parking on comm ave and mt hood. But I don't know how much they charge.

Riverside on the Green D line had parking for $7 per night. It is west of BC.

Green St garage is walkable, $22 a night, just park in central. I would pay that and save having to do the commute myself.

isn't Central Sq considered to be one of the more undesirable areas of Cambridge? i seem to remember it had a bad reputation.
