Since the Asian food threat seemed to be a hit on the Boston board, I figured why not put together a list by World Cup country of places to eat in Boston? There are a couple missing, so please feel free to chime in.

What a great topic.

I don't follow soccer, but Italy is not represented this time?

I don't recognize most of these spots yet I consider myself savvy on where popular restaurants are locally. Hmmm... much more learning ahead for me!

France:

Petit Robert, Columbus Avenue

La Voile, Newbury Street and Dedham

Frenchie bistro, Tremont Street, South End

.....

Switzerland: Teuscher Chocolates, Newbury Street

.....

Belgium: Neuhaus Chocolates, Quincy Market (upscale chocolate chain)

funny thing they mentioned this on big-city-fm 88.5 today and said that there are fewer attractions for black persons around the host site in foxboro and the city should invest in infrastructure closer to the city that would benefit all persons.

my parents went to the u.s.a./haiti qualifier in 2004 so for that i nominate highland cuisine - somerville.

although general cuisine, soundbites - somerville is moroccan owned and has a few dishes.

I looked at Ticos menu and that is definitely not Costa Rican food. They don't have the typical casado on their menu. The largest population of Costa Ricans in the US is in NJ and that is where you'd have to go for authentic CR food. My family is Panamanian and I've never seen or eaten at a Panamanian restaurant in the US, but it is similar to Costa Rican food.

Yeah the Tico’s pick was more tongue in cheek, because of the name. Should have mentioned that. 😉

My grandmother was Panamanian (I’m Jamaican so I’m sure you know the connection between the two countries) so I agree that I have never had authentic Panamama food outside of Panama itself.

I must say I was excited when I saw your list and Ticos on there and was bummed when I looked at their menu. And yes, I think alot of Panamanian families have Jamaican relatives. I've had some pretty awesome Jamaican food in Panama.

Edward, how are you putting together these lists? And have you been to all of these restaurants (including the ones in your Asian food thread)? I'm asking because you're shown as being in London, and it seems like you misidentified a restaurant as being Costa Rican. Previously from Boston?
