Allston is pretty much my Mecca for any and all Asian food.

I am a big fan of the food court at Super 88, but I am surprised you find it better than places like San Jose or Orange County, California.

I've since moved out of the Allston area and into the suburbs and local Vietnamese recommend a place in Randolph, the restaurant name escapes me at the moment.

Probably the Pho So 1, best I've had in the south of Boston area.

Didn't happen to know about that one in my travels, I'll read reviews and if they are good and I visit Boston again, I'll try it

I used to really like Pho Pasteur, but I remember being kind of unimpressed the last few times I went. Just judging by reviews, Pho Basil on Mass Ave might be the place to go in the city center now.

Course Ba Le on Dot Ave is tops for bahn mi!

88 in Allston is good. I know exactly the place your referring to. But this is the best you've had in the US? Have you been to NYC or Chicago yet? The best I've had in the US is a tossup between those two cities.

If you get a chance, check out Tank Noodle in Chicago: https://tinyurl.com/y2wkxpzn

Also, not Vietnamese, but if you like noodle soups check out Xi'an in NYC: https://www.xianfoods.com/
