Why not Savin Hill/Southie/JFK. Or Dorchester (near Lower Mills, Cedar Grove area).

My single friend has a condo in Marina Bay and she was wanting to move away closer to city since more young families were living there.

Not a fan of the Braintree line vs. Ashmont. It just seems to be at least 10-15 extra minutes to get into city, more delays, not so reliable lately.
Quincy is fine, we used to rent at Highpoint and they had a shuttle to Quincy Ctr. Check out that place. We really loved it minus the high rent! It was about $1800+ for 2 BR when we rented about 2 years ago.
