Any smelly. One man's delicious is another man's gross, so no strong odors. I don't want to smell fish because it stinks, but I don't want to smell your buttered popcorn either because it'll make me hungry.

No different than a park bench in that sense. Would it be rude to put your feet up on one of those?
I guess can't say I frequently see people putting feet on park benches. Also the seats on most of the red line trains are fabric (what a dumb idea that was) so it seems just dirtier. The bodily fluids that get on those seats all day is pretty horrifying to think about.

Loud phone conversations (either speaker or even regular) and playing music through speaker should be subject to removal and public shaming.

I dont understand the people who play loud music on the train other than they have issues and dont know any better.

I am not talking about normal phone calls. I am talking about the people who take them at a very loud volume on speaker phone.

Loud music, feet on benches? The “rough summer ahead” thread has gone soft for lack of rough stuff.

lol definitely has. Summer has been very pleasant up there. I'm coming for a brief reprieve from the murderfest down here. I'll be in Boston for the weekend.
