I still like Central. It has gentrified, but way less then most other parts of the twin cities. Phoenix landing and Middle East are still around which helps. Closer to the MIT side I feel like the Miracle of Science and Middlesex are good additions, But All Asia is sometimes missed.

Miracle of Science has been open for 30 years, long before that block had gentrified. Middlesex is a bit more recent.

In reality the gritty part of Central is slowly getting squeezed from either end. It's really just a block from Pearl St to Carl Barron Place (which is as grimy as anyone could wish).

Didn't realize that. Thanks.
Another one I will is the Field that was across from the old CCTV Location.

I remember many fun evenings there upstairs with Little Joe Cook and the Thrillers. A real neighborhood joint. Never went downstairs.

I did for Club Bohemia a few times. Rather standard room. Not sound proofed so when bands were both upstairs and downstairs it got iffy fast.

Wonder if it will turn into another hip tapas place. I hope it retains at least some of it's old vibe.

Did you ever hear of the guy who hung himself in the upstairs as part of his Halloween act/costume and no one took it seriously at first?
