I was watching Mozart in the Jungle and was thinking. Could the BSO bring music on the road to more remote areas in the city?

I know that. What the show had was a setup in a ally. I can sort of see it I mean if people cannot afford to go out. Imagine if they had like a pop up event at say Shaws at Hyde Park

I think this is a little far fetched (to say the very least). We're not talking about a garage band here...

I think you are referring to that area in between a basketball court and stop and shop on Truman highway? I can't imagine they would ever go there. I mean there's a commuter rail that runs directly behind there as well. I'm sure they still have some standards on where they want to go even though everything these days seems to have become about catering to lower income, diverse neighborhoods.

My point is a neighborhood concert might be a good idea.

If i was part of the BOS I'm not sure how i'd feel about playing in random neighborhoods out in the open throughout the city.

The acoustics in the freezer aisle is terrible. Nobody wants to hear a symphony there.

Yeah classical music is about excellent music, it doesn't really work in random places. Maybe in the middle of a park.

Folks the neighborhood thing is least of the problem. The thing is, you simply aren't going to duplicate the acoustics in place at Boston Symphony Hall, or Tanglewood, when pitching a tent in the Stop & Shop parking lot. There's a lot more at play, than simply the "musicians". I can see Dominos (or some crappy Greek pizza joint) setting up a portable toaster oven at a street fair, but no way in he## is Santarpios gonna recreate their legendary brick oven on the fly. Also akin to Capital Grill setting up a portable hibachi grill in the middle of a parking lot. Sure you can transport the ingredients and know-how, but just forget it...
