Is there such a thing as off street, free or metered parking in the area? Or only garage parking? We will be in the Boston Wharf rd. Area.
Thank you.

Thank you.
In addition to the garages, there are a handful of public surface lots and there's a decent amount of metered parking on streets in the area. You may have to circle a bit, and you'll likely have better luck with meters the further you get off of Seaport Blvd, but you can do it. Worth noting is that a number of the streets look exactly like city streets but are technically private. The only way you can really tell is the little "Pvt Way" on the sign (like this one). Some examples are Thompson Place, Fan Pier Blvd, Liberty Drive, Autumn Lane, Stillings St, etc. It matters because some have still have metered parking that you can use, but parking enforcement is managed privately. If you park where you shouldn't or overrun your meter on one of these streets, they can be pretty quick to tow. They'll ticket too, but people have started to catch on to the fact that even though they look like city tickets (read the fine print if you get one), they aren't and there's no real recourse for people not paying them. So they're quick to tow. I watched the tow trucks doing laps a few days ago on Thompson Place - leaving with a car each time. In short - just read the street signs and pay attention when paying at the meter or on the apps. I think street parking is plenty doable in the seaport if you want to try it. Especially if you're willing to circle the block a few times.

Alternatively, Post Office Square Garage is $9 every day between 4pm and 5am, and $9 all day on weekends and holidays. It's less than a 10 minute walk into the seaport.
