They literally asked for a lawsuit. MBTA needs better management. Yet again.

Wow! Look at the exposed rebar on that bridge support.

It's tragic but it sounds like a little common sense on part of the runner could have avoided this.

According to this, both ends were previously blocked. So unless a hole was recently cut through...

I just looked it up on Google Street maps and the sign was on one end and fence on the other.

Some might not read but it's sad he must have jumped the fence like a kid thinking he'd save time. Not everyone thinks about safety. Heck I worked for a company where a guy tried using a chain saw to cut a chain link fence (twice)

There were a few posts on this on the Milton town facebook page and people seem to think there's more to this story.

What are they saying?

Looking at the google map posted above, it looked like he really would have had to have hopped the fence or gone through a hole somebody made in it.

Someone suggested he could have been the victim of a violent crime. That area he was running in isn't necessarily the safest...but runners don't typically carry wallets either so I don't know why anyone would go after him. It just seems too weird that he'd be running through jfk/umass station particularly on a broken staircase. Would be good to see what happened on surveillance camera but wouldn't surprise me if there were no cameras.

This is a bizarre coincidence but remember that elevator death that happened about a year ago where someone was crushed and killed ? That was also a BU professor/lecturer

Eek. That's kind of eery.
