I was wondering if anyone knew of good places to watch the Euro 2008 final this sunday at 230pm in Boston. Also, I am hoping Spain will be in it, so if there is a good latin or spanish area or bar in the city where a lot of fans might be, that'd be great.

I don't know if anyone was in the North End for the World Cup a couple of years ago when Italy won but it was a great time. I am looking for a similar experience ( a lot of fans, flags, and jerseys), but not expecting anything to the same extent.

Thank You

Few of the thousands of Spanish-speaking people in Greater Boston hail from Spain. My sense is that there isn't that much of a sense of solidarity by virtue of language, lol, hardly a surprise when you consider why it is that many Caribbean and Central and South American nations share "Espanol."

The Sports Depot in Allston, with its literally dozens of flat-screen TV's, would be a sure bet for catching the matches. A banner has appeared across the front of the "Tavern on the Square" in Cambridge's Central Square hyping the fact that the action can be caught there. Doubtlessly their "sister location" at Porter Square will follow suit. Many of the neighborhood bars and Irish pubs around town have been carrying broadcasts of the English leagues' games in recent times, so there likely wouldn't be a problem locating one featuring this Euro tournament. Your own favorite spot(s) could well be among them.

The good news is there are a lot of places that are known for catering to soccer fans, especially around the North Station/Allston/Cambridge areas. Pubs like McGanns and Kells were hotbeds for fans, full on many Sundays for EPL matches. Now, with ESPN broadcasting Euro soccer, I'm not sure where to recommend. I also cannot think of a place that will cater to fans of Spain, since many of the Latinos on the Boston area do not hail from Europe. And if the Sox are on Sunday afternoon, you'll want to avoid the traditional sports bars, since that will be the main event. There will be places in the North End showing the game, but not with the same affection as if Italy was still in it.

I know the followers of the Revolution tend to go to a bar at the Garden - I think it's DJ's. So that might also be a good spot.
