Hi- I would greatle appreciate some advice regarding a future move to Boston. I am a single 34 woman and looking to relocate- preferably to Boston. I currently live in western NY and feel it would be a compatible move. Here are my questions: what area would you suggest a newbie to live in, an area that is safe and entertaining as well as afforable? I really just want a simple studio apt (less cleaning!!). I work in food service (fancy way to say waitress) and curious as to how well servers do in this area (in Florida I avg $300 per shift, here I avg $150). My biggest concern isn't employment or finding a reasonable studio- but where to start looking. I have been to Boston several times but strictly as a "tourist" but I plan to explore the city prior to moving there. I would greatly appreciate any help!! Thanks so much!

If you look for an apartment starting in October, it will likely be less expensive, because the students have already made their selections and landlords are anxious to fill what units remain.
Be sure to have money for up to 3-months rent to sign a lease. It may be less, but you need to be prepared.

Well, my price range is uncertain, that will be based on what the average rent would be. I would like to avoid going over $1200 for a studio. The place I will be working is in Back Bay on Arlington- so I would like to search nearby there to make getting to and from work easier.
