So I am coming to Boston next month for work and will be staying at the Jury's Hotel during the week. My work is paying for it, as I would rather spend my money on other things than expensive hotels. During the weekend, my fiance and I want to find a place to stay accessible to Downtown (via the T preferrably or alternate cheap transportation option as I will not rent a car), but I would like to spend $100-$125 or less a night for lodging. Hotwire and other websites have great deals on 4-star hotels in Saugus/Airport area. However, some posts say that Downtown is not very accessible from Saugus.

What are some possible suggestions for cheap lodging and accessible to downtown within 10-15 minutes? Any specific hotel/lodging recommendations? Is Hotel Indigo a good one?

Thanks in advance

Please Help

If you want to stay in the city I recommend the John Jeffries House or the Midtown Hotel - both should be in your budget. Saugus is about 11 miles outside of the city, 9 miles to the airport. Hotel Indigo is in Newton, as long as it's near the Green Line of the MBTA, it should be fine!

If you really want to explore the city just avoid hotels that are not in Boston-proper. They'll be more expensive but honestly the convenience of being able to step outside and walk or T to wherever you want to go at any time of day will make up for it.

Once you get out of downtown locations, it does take an extra 45-60 minutes using public transportation to get in/out of Boston. (for may be just a 10-20 minute car ride)

You may want to consider B&B option.
