my husband and I are looking to relocate from Pa (Philadelphia suburbs) to the New England area. We are looking at the Hartford, CT area or Boston, MA. My question is how pricey is Boson for a young couple. We are in our mid twenties and would move into a rental but I have heard the cost of living there is very high..also how is the job market in the Boston Metro Area.
Thanks for your thoughts

The question is so general. Not sure who can answer that. Rental depends on how close you want to be in Boston. As to jobs, I guess only you know what kind job you are looking for.

I suggest looking into Boston.com and craiglist for rental prices. Usually starts around $1K for a 1 bedroom.

Boston.com or monster.com for jobs.

$$$$ Very expensive compared to other parts of the country- min 1G for a tiny little apartment. If you look in Maine you might get one for $900. Even NH is expensive now-It's tough- I ws paying $650 a month in 1984 for a crappy apt in NH. Vt doesn't have alot of housing apt. wise but if you make lots of $$ then you are all set.

You might want to look into Conn.
