I will be working in Woburn, and I'm looking to rent a 2-3bedroom house or townhouse for less than $2500/month in a family friendly area. I've heard that real estate agents are the way to go in the Boston area, but that they charge high brokers fees. Is this true? What other options do I have?

Oftentimes the homeowner/landlord will pay the fee.

Craigslist. Single-family rental homes are pretty scarce around here, although I'm sure you'll find plenty of nice apartments and townhomes.
