you might also consider south boston, castle island area is nice.

If you are working at MGH I would recommend that you stay in Boston, look in Beacon Hill or the Back Bay. You never know when you will have to walk to work because of the snow. You won't spend hours commuting. No parking worries. The hassles are endless involving a commute in and out of Boston. If you need a car just look up "Zip Car". You will have a better quality of life with out the commute, believe me. Best wishes,
