Hello,
My house is due to go on the market this week. My husband and I would like to move to Scituate, and we have seen 1 or 2 interesting houses in the past several months, but since our house was not ready to be put on the market yet, our hands were tied. Now that my house is ready to be sold, I don't see a thing in Scituate that I like. We may have to rent a place month to month until we see something we like. Scituate has summer rental homes that rent month to month in the winter, apparently. Our own furnishings would have to go into storage.

Has anyone ever gone through this. It is so stressful, but on the other hand in this market there is so little for sale I almost feel like I have no choice but to do it this way. When something good comes on the market, it goes fast.

Any advice, stories, etc? THANK YOU!!

I know people who have sold, put a majority of stuff in storage and rented a year. It's obviously not an ideal situation, but I think it's better than the alternative of buying a house that you don't really like. You'll only feel bitter and resentful when a house you would've wanted to buy finally comes on the market and you're stuck with the house you felt forced into purchasing.
