Thank you for all the replies! I will definitely look into a couple of these.

I have been doing my research for quite some time. I've narrowed down the place in Texas. I've looked into jobs, apartments, etc. That area is taken care of. I was just curious because in my search I'm trying to be realistic. I know what my budget is. I had all but given up on the idea of Boston because of the cost. However, Boston has always been an area I love as a lot of my extended family lives out that way and I was born there. I just wanted some suggestions to see what might be financially possible for me to swing down the road.

Thanks again!

If you arent set on where you want to live yet, but have limited it to 2 places... just apply apply apply until you get something. If you know anyone in MA or TX and can use their address on your resumes, do it. I know from person experience Austin is impossible to find a job if you arent local. In MA, they'll give you a call... but are also a bit uneasy.

5K may get you through 4 months in MA if you're lucky(and have no additional costs, and have no moving costs)... in TX it could last about 7 depending on where you live. (my rent in austin was about 350(with 2 roommates) outside of boston expect to pay more like 600-700 with roommates)

If you arent 100% set on one place though, dont move before you get a job... TX is cheaper to live in, but you'll also be making much less...

My degree is in MIS and I know it will be brutal to get a job. It will probably be even more difficult given that there are so many graduates from good schools in the area. I've always wanted to live east though, and this is the only life I've got so I'm going to see if I can make something happen.

I'm beginning to apply for jobs and internships but because I'm from out of state I doubt I will have much luck. I'm thinking if nothing shows up, I may just move and apply non stop until I find something. With 5K is it doable to move there and get set up? I was wondering if anyone could suggest some neighboring cities or surrounding areas that are close enough to the city, but not smack dab in the most expensive parts. Anything with public transport is good too as I'd rather not take my car with me.

I'm not a big spender. I just need a roof and Ramen and some advice.

I will also be in my last semester at my college but the remaining courses are online so I don't need to physically stay here. If anyone can offer cany advice about finding an internship, I wouldn't complain.
I am leaving my apartment in Watertown. You could take my place!

Good luck with the move, btw. I am in a similar situation: small budget but wanting to make a big move.
