Ditto. I'm not a fan of upper crust.

There's a slight NY pull in RI and SE Mass but I wouldn't say more than in even Eastern CT. Many friends from Fall River, Providence and New Bedford follow the Giants (most are still sox fans.... Weird) because that's who their parents follow. It's different, but I wouldn't say it's aligned with NY... Certainly not on the same tier as much of CT. RI is still much more Boston oriented than NY oriented

Can't help you with Rico. Romano's is in Rozzy Square.

And regarding the above comments on The Upper Crust? I too don't think it's all that great. Not bad, but nothing to compare with Santarpio's, Regina, Romano's, or T' Anthony's!

the following are great:
santarpios
ernestos
regina
pushcart
pinnochios in harvard square
most places in north end
crazy dough's
sabatinos
hi-fi in central square
brookline spa
same old place in jp
doyles in jp
zestos in jp

I personally prefer sicilian, and the tomato-basil at pinnochios is unreal

That place is great... But it's in such a bad neighborhood. I used to live near Forest Hills and go there all the time, but I wont go to Mattapan anymore unless I have to. Lenny's is another great place over there...

Let me guess- youre a college kid who lives in Allston and has never been to East Boston right?

Interesting thread revived from being long dead. Personally, I like to think that appreciating pizza is like appreciating snow flakes . . . all are different and all are beautiful in their own way. To say one particular pizza has the best pizza every is silly. There are so many different types of pizza from NY style to Greek to coal fired pizza.

Yes, Boston pizza compares with CT/NY. People brag about NY pizza but I have yet to have a great NY pizza experience. Every time I go to NYC I stop somewhere to get a slice and its usually a sub-par slice.

Chicago pizza trumps them all.
