I was going to suggest this as well but hesitated because I though I'd get poked fun at for suggesting a "touristy" place (though it really isn't bad at all). The fact remains that it's a beautiful view, fun atmosphere (romantic, but not cheesy) and warm. I love top of the hub on a date. Last spring I got a drink at Top of the Hub with a date before getting dinner at L'Espalier. After a super expensive meal, all she could talk about was how much she liked Top of the Hub. We get drinks there every so often still. I highly recommend it.

My personal feelings about the place aside (suffice it to say, it's not my favorite,) it's a little much for a first date.

I went to top of the hub with a few friends..its awesome and has an amazing view...but is definitely not first date material. That would be a great place to get all dressed up and surprise a girl by going there for a classy drink and getting dinner somewhere else fancy (since I actually heard they dont have very good food) ...maybe date 3 or 4.

There is certainly some truth to that as well. Especially if it's two people who've just met.

I like the Liberty Hotel too. It's in a converted prison--very unique place.
