Can someone let me know besides the scores in written exam and school marks what else is required for admission. Also how fast can one know if one got admission or not?

Thanks

iirc, students take the exam test early in the school year, and then a few months later, they get the notices.

Is this the same as the Roxbury Latin School? If so, I'm curious as well.

Also...are there dorms for the students on campus?

I know nothing about this school but can't stop thinking of the Fraser episode where they're trying to getting Freddie into a private school. So funny!

Boston Latin School is a public school, not a private school and not a boarding school (meaning no dorms). Roxbury Latin School is a different school altogether and is not a public exam school

what are "reasonable" grades? I think the student would have to be an honor roll student to get a shot, along w/ excellent test scores. IIRC (and assuming things haven't changed much since I last took it in the late 90's), Boston Latin School (BLS) is the top of the three exam schools, followed by Boston Latin Academy (BLA), then John D O'Bryant. students who scored in the highest bracket got to choose among the 3, the next bracket down got to choose between BLA and the O'Bryant, and the last bracket was "stuck" w/ the latter (though the O'Bryant is still a MUCH better school than most BPHS). not sure what else is required other than grades, test scores, and residency status

No, Boston Latin School is not the same as Roxbury Latin, which is in fact one of BLS's chief rivals. Roxbury Latin is a private preparatory school and charges tuition whereas Boston Latin is the oldest public school in our nation and has free admission though one needs to pass an exam to get in. Think of it as similar to Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan.

Does BLS have dorms? I wish! I wouldn't have had to take an hour long commute early each morning when I attended the school. Sorry but BLS does not have dorms.

Does Roxbury Latin have dorms?...I read that it is a day school (whatever that means) but most of the elite schools in the US have dorms.
