Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend any great Montessori schools
within 15 min or so of Newton? My family is moving next June and will
most likely settle in the Newton (or surrounding) area. My 3 year old has
been in an amazing Montessori school the past 3 months in Portland and we'd love to keep her in Montessori. Ideally, we'd love a program with a strong elementary program too, but would consider one with just a great primary school.

Thanks so much!

Andrea

I attended Cambridge Montessori and still have fond memories, 25+ years later. My son was accepted to attend CMS for this year, but we ended up moving out of state. That was probably one of the most disappointing things about moving, there isn't a decent montessori school where we live now (who has heard of uniforms for a montessori school... that seems to be the antithesis of Maria Montessori). I have friends with their kids at CMS and they all love it. Warning: it is pricey.

Newton Montessori is an excellent Montessori school with a toddler, transition, primary (children's house) and elementary program. It might be too late to get into the primary program, but it's worth trying, because I heard they are adding another classroom for next year. The elementary program is very small, but it is excellent. This school is very diverse culturally, both families and faculty. Check it out!

Newton Montessori is excellent, with a solid Montessori curriculum plus extras like art, music and Spanish. It has extended day options too.
