I have 3 children but I homeschool so I am not concerned with being close to a school but need a nice neighborhood where they can meet other childeren....

There are lots of surrounding towns, and they vary a lot in character and cost. It would be easier to answer your questions, and you'd probably get more responses, if you provided info about what you're looking for--housing budget, whether you want to be near public transit, your preferred commuting time and area where you'd be working, and the kind of neighborhood or town you're looking for (sort of urban with a coffee shop around the corner, suburban, semi-rural, etc.). With that kind of info, people here could zero in on the areas that best fit what you're looking for.
