1.) there are hidden gems that stay hidden gems in boston (restaurants, bakeries, good tailors, etc.)
2.) It's big enough to feel vibrant, but small enough to feel like home.
3.) spring, summer, fall, and yes. . . winter :-)
4.) I love my neighborhood because it is so community driven and I buy my veggies and my baked goods from people who live up the corner and whose families have kept this neighborhood thriving for years (North End).

If there was any one thing I could change about the T, it would be this. Any Green-to-Red Line connection, anywhere west of Fenway. Unfortunately MBTA seems more interested in Red-to-Blue. (understandable, I guess-- the only two lines that don't connect)

Take a trip to the Midwest sometime. It'll be an eye-opener, trust me.

MA is right in the middle of the pack when it comes to tax burden. 23rd most expensive. NJ is #1. NH is #46.

Back in the 1990's, MA was ranked a couple of times in the top ten highest tax states....

I'll admit it , Boston is a beautiful city. Even though we are looking to leave it. Some things that are awesome....
Red Sox and Fenway park
Pats , Bruins and Celtics, and yes we have the most passionate fans on the planet.
Arcitecture, I hope I spelled it right. I just have a Newton public education.
Public garden , Boston Common
Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall.
Fall
Go to New Hampshire and Maine
I really stay away from the cape.
Best Hospitals in the country

Yes it is expensive, out of control housing market. If it wasnt so expensive for a house I wouldnt leave.

If you think girls from Boston are ugly, take a trip to Texas. Too many fat, gross, and sloppy people around!

No one cares about fashion either because the whole state is a gigantic suburb where you drive your car everywhere. No incentive to look good here.

Pray tell, WHY do you like Boston better than Chicago? I moved to Chicago from Boston and I couldn't wait to leave! Almost everything you list is in Chicago tenfold! Chicago is prettier, cleaner, bigger, friendlier, more diverse, and more interesting. I was bored out of my skull in Boston. Too many colleges when you're in the real world, everyone seems to work in science, medicine, or higher education, or high tech or biotech. They say don't get a car but as soon as you move 4 miles out of the city to Somerville the buses run once an hour on Sundays. You can't live your life like that. Chicago is WAY more fun and exciting than Boston. I was there 6 years and liked it less and less each year. Good riddance!

Chicago is bigger, that's it!
With a bigger size certainly comes more restaurants. But Chicago is a large, antiseptic Midwestern city and it doesn't have nearly the charm or beauty of Boston.

In Boston you can see many of the most historical places in the country on foot.
If you get into a car you can travel up or down one of the most beautiful and historical stretches of coastline in the world.

In Chicago, on foot you can walk Michigan Avenue with all it's cookie cutter stores that most people cannot afford to shop at, or go to the top of the John Hancock Building, or see a couple of museums that you could see anywhere in America.

if you get into a car there is literally nothing. No place to travel to see anything. Where you gonna go? Kenosha? Gary? Bolingbrook?

BTW: The Metra sucks!
