I am exploring preschools in the Newton area, for my three year old. Do you have any recommendations or experiences that you would like to share?
Many thanks.

Sorry to hijack your post, but I'm looking for daycares near Newton (similar topic). We have a 10 month old who will be starting daycare in about 4-6 months. Seems like all the places around here are $18-26k/yr, so anything cheaper in a nearby town would be fine too.

Default Preschool recommendation

Check out Pine Village Preschool in West Newton.

They also have locations in Brighton and Weston.

Have 4 kids and the first 3 of them have all attended Pine Village

Special feature is that they run as a bilingual Spanish/English program which is just wonderful at this age. Our 2 year old is currently attending the Brighton campus and says all his colors and numbers in Spanish!

Great staff too, very warm and loving.

Best of luck!

Default newton preschool

It may be a little late but I know of an excellent preschool in Newton :
To all parents moving to Newton or the area.

There is a wonderful preschool in Newton Highlands called Golden Days. The director is Janice Golden and is absolutely wonderful. They have an opening starting in December for a preschooler.

Golden Days Children's Center Home

It's really an outstanding school: all the teachers have higher degrees of education, the location is really good and facilities are great (they even have a gym for the cold or rainy days to run out some energy), the communication is very open and frequent (emails and letters and photos every week!).

So if you're looking to move to Newton with your little one, this is the place I would recommend.

Note: I'm not in any way affiliated with the school but we are leaving the area and the spot for our son is freeing up. I just wish that I could take the school with us!!

we also were using this daycare ( golden days ) because it looked attractive and clean but unfortunately our experience was completely different than yours. we found the director, janice golden, very difficult to work with and always felt dictated to rather part of a collaborative team. she can be "very" condescending at times.

also, most of the kids are on the half day program and not a full day program. there was no communication setup between the morning and afternoon crew. some of teachers seemed burnt out. professional days are more frequent than any other daycares in this area.

Newton Montessori School in Newton Centre was great experience for my kids and my family. They start with a toddler program then go through preschool and into elementary. They are outstanding, super caring and have flexible hours for working moms.
