Hey, my wife, daughter and I are looking to move to Boston. I know that some of the other forums have threads with links to varous local apartment search websites. Just wondering if there have been any put on here. Or, if not, if someone knows of some good ones.

I've never used anything but CraigsList or a broker.

Craigslist is probably the most popular way to find apartments on here. Most real estate agents advertise on there as well as actual landlords. If you're dealing with an agent, there's a good chance you may have to pay a fee if you rent through them (but only if you rent, not if you just go out and don't find anything). Ascertain beforehand if there's a fee - it depends on the apartment.

I just spent 3 weeks looking on a whole bunch of websites for housing in the Boston Area. I used Craigslist, but if you are coming from out of state it can be really difficult if you don't know the various neighborhoods and areas very well. I found rent.com and forrent.com helpful in narrowing down the area at first, then registered with bostoncityproperties.com and charlesgate realty group where agents could send me listings. Good Luck in your search!
